Lodging: Hotels, Motels, AirBnBs

Indoor overnight lodging exists in many small towns across the region, and options are listed in the Bikepacking Resupply Spreadsheet, and as Points of Interest on each Ride with GPS route page

Many riders opt for multi-day bikepacking with indoor lodging for extra comfort and to keep their bikes lighter given the region’s hilly terrain!

Camping In the Endless Mountains region

  • State Park campgrounds

    • Mt. Pisgah, Worlds End, Ricketts Glen, and Salt Springs

  • State Forest primitive campsites

    • Loyalsock State Forest: Shanersburg Rd, High Knob Rd - free but require reservation

    • Tioga State Forest: County Bridge Campground - fee required

  • Dispersed camping in State Forests - No cost or permit required if staying only one night and arriving without a vehicle, must be 200’ from roads, 100’ from streams or lakes, 25’ from trails. Dispersed camping means no facilities or services—no toilets, trash cans, or treated water—so riders should be self-sufficient and follow Leave No Trace principles and respect local landowners and communities.

  • Private campgrounds

  • Hipcamp or Harvest Host

  • Trail Magic / Trail Angels

Riders should note that private land is interspersed throughout the forest landscape. Camping is not allowed on private property unless explicitly permitted. These areas are usually clearly marked with signage. Camping is prohibited anywhere in the PA State Gamelands.
