LeRaysville: Cooks & Keir
24.3 miles | 3,083’ | 79% unpaved
Experience the rolling hills surrounding LeRaysville on a demanding gravel loop connecting Cooks Pond County Park, Keir Family Distillery, picturesque farms, and quiet country roads.
LeRayesville is the land of steep hills. The climbs are tough and often long, but the descents are worth it and ready to be ripped. The gravel roads are smooth, often lined with trees or riding through farms and fields. The picturesque farms of this route are only outnumbered by the deer you’ll see.
A third of the way into the route is a short out-and-back to Cooks Pond County Park, a stunning fishing spot complete with a picnic table, making it the ideal spot for a quick snack break. This park land was donated to Bradford County back in 2016, and they plan to continue improving its facilities in the coming years. The pond is stocked with trout by the Pennsylvania Fish Commission and only allows electric motor boats, making it an ideal place to spend a calm and quiet afternoon.
Just past the halfway point is another excellent spot for a mid-ride break. The Keir Family Distillery, open Thursday through Sunday, has been cooking up whiskey, bourbon, vodka, and handcrafted liqueurs since 2022. Stop by and have a tasting flight of the wares, or enjoy a drink from their robust cocktail and mocktail menus. They also offer a limited food menu to round out the experience.
